The Pig Shed Writer’s Retreat at Barter Lady Farm

Newly renovated with all new bathroom! The Pig Shed is an idyllic setting, close to Gettysburg and McDaniel College. Dogs under 50lbs welcome for Additional Fee, see House Manual for rules/fees for dogs. A unique retreat, fantastic for exploring local sites and nature watching. The studio features a queen sized bed, a full size futon, 3/4 bath, microwave, air fryer, hot plate, gas grill, incredible views and lots of quiet, access to a pond, hiking trails, a fire pit, and can visit the chickens.

If grp is larger, there are 4 queen hotel-quality sofabeds in the lg room, 1 rollaway and 1 mattress. Room on the floor for kids who bring their own sleeping bags. 2 bathrms/showers. Kitchen-340 sf attached to the suite seating 16+. You may also tent outside. 50 inch Smart TV. 2nd TV for DVD’s. Ping pong and fooseball inside. Strict $8/person/night over 5 people. A private suite located above the host's law offices, near the center of Hanover, Pennsylvania. Hanover straddles Adams and York Counties in south central Pennsylvania. Gettysburg is an easy 20 minute drive west of town. Baltimore and Frederick, Maryland are only an hour south. Carlisle and Harrisburg are approximately 45 minutes north; York is 40 minutes east and Lancaster approximately 1:20 minutes east.
