The Cavier Windmills of Montreuil-Bellay are part of the heritage of this charming medieval town. Beautifully restored, the main windmill welcomes you for a timeless stay beneath its lofty tuffeau stone vaults. The Count of Monte Cristo had his wondrous cave to guard his treasures — the land of Saumur offers you its own, inviting you to a suspended moment in time, nestled in the heart of History like in a fairytale cocoon. But let’s explore the estate together! A large main room first greets you — ideal for big meals or family gatherings — before leading you to a cozy lounge nestled beneath the mill’s ancient vaulted ceiling. On either side, two warm and comfortable bedrooms await you, offering a direct view of the vineyards when you wake. The main bedroom features a queen-size bed; the second, a double bed (190x160 cm). A mezzanine — a charming nook furnished in soft oriental tones — overlooks the lounge and provides extra sleeping space for larger families. A few steps further, and you reach the rooftop terrace, where a panoramic view of the vineyards and the Montreuil castle awaits. A fully equipped kitchen and a small bathroom provide all the modern conveniences to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Outside, beneath the blessed shade of a mulberry tree, a spacious terrace awaits your summer evenings and feasts. All around, the estate’s vineyards invite you to stroll and watch the sunset. Convenient parking spaces are available, making the Domaine an ideal starting point for exploring the beautiful Saumur region. Château Tower in Heart of Loire Valley

This turreted hideaway forms the East Tower of a 15th century château - featured in a number of UK homes & interiors magazines. The tower is completely self-contained and its pretty, covered balcony offers breathtaking views over the château's truffle orchard. Internally it is full of character with a circular, beamed bedroom and roll top bath on the top floor and a sitting room below. There is no formal kitchen so this is a place for foodies wanting to experience local French food by eating out
