Historic Discovery Bay Beach Cabin Stunning Views

Experience healing and peace with the sound of gentle waves on Discovery Bay. Our cabin was built in 1939 by our grandfather who was an early businessman in Port Townsend. He wisely recognized for decades to come this would be a prized place of rest, enjoyed by 5 generations. Our two kayaks for beginners and new paddle board are available for rent. Explore the unbelievable beauty of the Olympic National Park just a few miles away featuring hiking to rainforests, glaciers, and mountain lakes.

Tucked into a lush rain forest, this cozy and private tiny house is a peaceful retreat for slowing down. Wake to birdsong and filtered light through the towering trees, enjoy coffee or wine outdoors on the deck, grill dinner and gather by the fire pit as stars appear through the forest canopy. Relax with the expansive view of the Olympic Mountain peaks across the Hood Canal from the entire glassed in house-front. Sit down by the fire pit to view sunsets, eagles, herons, seals, otters and occasional porpoise or orca passing. Your comfort is our goal with our mid century mod home. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Enjoy the beachfront park nearby. We are only 10 minutes from Poulsbo, Port Gamble, and the Hood Canal bridge.

Bring or rent a kayak or paddleboard: explore Hood head, Squamish harbor, or Gamble bay. Close to the Hood Canal Floating Bridge. Summer days we often have deer in the yard, and eagles soaring above, watching the shoreline for fish. Our yard has fruit trees, a barbecue, fire pit, and views of the mountains and water There is a trail through the woods to the nearby shoreline. It's a spacious ground floor retreat. A great, private studio apartment with its own entrance in our remodeled basement, featuring stylish finishes. Guests can enjoy the hot tub and private guest-only gazebo. Convenient access to Seattle via Kingston or Bainbridge ferries, including the fast ferry from Kingston. Nicely located at the north end of the Kitsap Peninsula, with proximity to the Olympic Peninsula. Downtown Poulsbo is under 15 minutes away. Located just over a mile south of the iconic Hood Canal floating bridge.

Once tucked back into the woods, this newly improved 1920s cabin now enjoys a front-row seat to the grandeur of the Hood Canal thanks to a tidal creek that has washed away the sandy soil that once supported the departed trees. This property may prove challenging for individuals with mobility issues. **Pricing is discounted due to ongoing improvements.
