The Ayrshire Loft at Cloncaird Castle

Close to the Galloway Forest park, an excellent base for walking, mountain biking and star gazing due to the dark skies. The famous Southern Upland Way walking route is accessible on foot from the cottage along with other beautiful hill walking, including some impressive peaks with breathtaking views. Streams and pools nearby for paddling and wild swimming adventures.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Located close to the village of Sorn, Blackside Cottage offers modern living within a traditional cottage, off the beaten track. The spacious one bedroom cottage, offers a king bed and a large sofa bed, a cosy wood burner and a fully fitted kitchen with top of the range appliances.

Dunlop is only 1/2 hour drive to some of Ayrshires top golf courses. The train takes less than 30 mins to Glasgow city centre. The village has a community pub, a community cafe(open Thursdays and Fridays for morning coffee and lunch. A newsagent, post office/ shop and an Artisan Bakery ( openThursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.) A new craft shop has also recently opened next door to our home. The nearest supermarket is 10 mins. drive away.

A former weaver's cottage located in the heart of the village. It's a short stroll to the Black Bull Hotel, the Church, the Village Hall and a well-stocked Community Shop. Ideal base for walking, cycling, fishing, star gazing or exploring the area with its many castles and golf courses. Glasgow is only an hour away and the Isle of Arran is a perfect day out.
