The Lakeside River House

The cottage lies on the banks of Lake Rousseau. This is a very interesting lake. The lake is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow Springs system and the dark tannin stained waters of the Withlacoochee River. Back in the 1930's, the water shed was dammed up on its far western edge. The result was a creation of a 12 mile long lake with a river twisting through the center, all of which you will enjoy from your waters edge dock. Come and enjoy the Nature Coast right from the backyard.

Welcome to our newly built guesthouse, located on top of a hill in a peaceful farm setting, where modern amenities meet rural escape. Enjoy your morning coffee on the porch, surrounded by giant oaks, where you can hear the birds sing and watch the animals roam. We are located just 20 minutes from World Equestrian Center (WEC), 15 mins from HITS, and 30 minutes from Gainesville and the University of Florida, in the epicenter of equestrian and diver’s paradise! When you’re ready to adventure, visit historic Cedar Key, or hike, swim, and look for manatees at nearby Manatee Springs. Kayak or tube down the Ichetucknee River, or visit the many springs nearby.
