Welcome to the Trailside Gökotta Forest Cottage: a modern, minimalist and serene nature cabin on the Birkie Trail system. Gökotta means 'to get up early to listen to sounds of birds and the forest'. Located right on Birkie Ridge Trailhead with close access to vast CAMBA trails, this is a nature escape for outdoor enthusiasts who love to bike, ski, hike, and bird watch. Enjoy ski-in ski-out to groomed trails, bike-in bike-out right onto trails, then cozy up by the woodstove or fire-pit at night.

Riverwood Hideaway

This OFF-GRID, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. THERE IS NO RUNNING WATER and LIMITED ELECTRICITY. WE DO HAVE WI-FI. The kitchen has a propane refrigerator and gas oven/stove. Solar power is used for lights and some outlets. Propane fireplace / furnace for heat. The "bathroom" is an outhouse. You bring jugs of drinking water. Hand and dish wash water provided. We supply coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices and firewood.

This is a cabin-in-the-woods experience! The Seeley Oaks A-Frame is our slice of the peaceful Northwoods experience. It's on 40 private, tranquil acres (no neighbors!) with great access to all the Hayward-Cable area has to offer. It's small - intended for two adults, with the option of 2 addtl kids. Warm up by the wood-burning fireplace inside or gather around the outdoor fire pit under the stars. The outdoor fire pit is only accessible from May-November. Summer is for the lake. Fall brings the colors. Winter is fireplace season. A four-season escape built for slowing down.

The Borealis House is located on Superior St. in Downtown Duluth with a pedestrian bridge path and garden directly behind the building connecting you to Canal Park and the Duluth Lake Walk. All rooms are on one level with elevator access - except the rooftop sunroom and deck.

Cozy Fireplace in a Northwoods Tiny House

Deer Haven is a tiny house (192 sq feet) located in my backyard, overlooking acres of woodland. The space is small and simple. Get to the queen bed in the sleeping loft by climbing the ladder. Bathroom has a toilet and stock tank shower. The kitchen has basic amenities - fridge, microwave, hot plate, griddle, dishes, etc. Best spot in the house is on the couch, where you can see the fireplace and the gorgeous woods out the patio door.

This charming one-bedroom cottage sits peacefully by the tree line, inviting you to start your mornings with coffee on the private porch. Spend afternoons exploring snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, or canoeing in Brule River State Forest. In the evenings, unwind with movies in your cozy retreat. For larger groups, consider renting The Farmhouse at Brule River Barn, a spacious four-bedroom, two-bath home sleeping 11.
