Only an hour drive from Chicago, and close to Indiana Dunes National Park, it is the ultimate escape. Note: We have a 3 night minimum stay during summer, but open up 2 night stays 1-2 weeks before if possible.

The Hideaway on Mitchellii Lane

A completely furnished apartment in the basement of our log home (our main residence) on 5 acres of woods above beautiful Shavehead Lake. Entrance into the apartment through a screened in porch and double French doors provides privacy and space to relax and enjoy the beautiful outdoor landscape. A large egress window allows natural sunlight into the bedroom on the opposite side of the wall from the kitchen/dining room/living room. High speed internet & YouTubeTV provide entertainment options.

Cottage across from Warren Dunes State Park

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful sanctuary. Charming classic cottage literally across the road from Warren Dunes (0.4 miles to the State Park entrance). The house sits on a partially wooded acre, with wooded state land on one side, no nearby neighbors, and a fenced portion of yard for the pets or little ones. Large deck with outdoor seating + grill; fire pit in back yard + excellent dark sky viewing opportunity. The house sits close to the road, but all bedrooms are in rear.

Beach Bird Cottage- 5min walk to the lake! 3BR/1BA

Dear friends, Welcome to Beach Bird Cottage, situated on a quiet street with other vintage cottages in the heart of Union Pier. It is an easy 5-minute walk to an association beach. The cottage has many updates, including a new kitchen, bathroom, washer/dryer, outdoor shower and a wood stove. The master and second bedroom each have queen-size beds and the children's bedroom has two twin beds. Enjoy an early swim before breakfast or have an evening beach picnic under the sunset.

This getaway is Located Downtown NB in the central business district with plenty of parking. It’s One street over from the main strip and within walking distance to the beach and marina, Amtrak. Private screened in porch with gas fire pit! Rent bikes, boats, and kayaks - half a block away. Restaurants, breweries, bars (including The Stray Dog and Casey's), ice cream parlors ( Oink's), Barney's (grocery), and the Amtrak Downtown stop is a quick 2 block walk.
