The Modern is spectacular - great permanent collection, international traveling exhibits, good restaurant, very relaxing seating by the water for food, glass of wine or espresso.

We love the Modern! In addition to their art exhibits, they also have a movie theater that screens art films and limited run films. The architecture of the building is stunning.

One of the foremost modern art collections in the US. Various movements, themes, and styles are represented. The Permanent Collection includes pieces by Pablo Picasso, Philip Guston, Anselm Kiefer, Robert Motherwell, Susan Rothenberg, Jackson Pollock, Andres Serrano, Cindy Sherman, Andy Warhol. Cafe Modern is a great place to grab lunch, enjoying views of the museum’s reflecting pool. Hours: Mon: Closed. | Tue-Sun: 10a-5p. Admission: $16 for adults (free on Fridays, half-price on Sundays.) Parking: typically free. Located next door to the Kimbell. Might as well do both. (The Amon Carter Museum is also right there and great, too!)
